ACADEMICS POLICY
ABSENTEEISM AND WORK NOT HANDED IN (GENERAL)
The onus is on the learner to ensure that he/she catches up with all the work/tests missed during his/her absence. TEST MISSED.
If a learner is absent for a test, he/she must bring a doctor’s note. If the learner’s parent doesn’t make personal contact with the Grade Head or Principal on the day of absence and no doctor’s letter has been handed in, a zero mark will be allocated. If a learner is absent for less than 2 days with a doctor’s note – the learner will write the test on the first day back at school.
If the learner is absent for more than 3 days with a doctor’s note – on the first day back at school the learner must report to the Grade Head with his/her doctor’s note to schedule all tests that have been missed. ASSIGNMENTS/TUTORIALS/PROJECTS NOT HANDED IN, ORALS NOT DONE
If a learner is absent on the day that the work is due to be handed in, he/she is expected to hand in the work on the first day he/she returns to school, irrespective of the subject appears on that day’s time table, or else, a zero mark will be awarded.
No work will be accepted after the due date. Learners must plan and organize a work schedule to complete all work as stipulated. For any work not handed in on time, no marks will be allocated.
Orals must be arranged with the relevant teacher, on the first day back at school. No arrangement, no marks.
